Dr. Walter Martin held four earned degrees, having received his doctorate from California Coast University in the field of Comparative Religions. He was internationally known as the original Bible Answer Man and bestselling author of The Kingdom of the Cults. Author of a dozen other books and a half-dozen booklets and many articles, Dr. Martin died in 1989.
 

Jill Martin Rische is the daughter of Dr. Walter Martin. Jill and her husband, Kevin Rische, are the managing editors on the new 2003 edition of The Kingdom of the Cults (Bethany House) working alongside Dr. Ravi Zacharias as the general editor, and the producers of the nationwide radio show "Essential Christianity". Jill is also the author of the inspirational book, Through the Windows of Heaven (Broadman & Holman) and Jack Star and the Secret Door (Kingdom), a youth fantasy adventure. The Risches live in Southern California.
