For nearly twenty-five years Virelle
Kidder has been doing what she loves best, speaking and
writing about the reality of knowing God. Virelle is a
“people person” who relates instantly and warmly to
audiences of all sizes. She is funny, transparent, highly
relatable and solidly biblical.
A former teacher with a degree in Spanish and English,
Virelle is a born communicator. Having spent several years
as host of “Real Life,” an hour-long daily talk radio show
in New York’s Capital district, her passion continues to be
encouraging others on their spiritual journey, helping them
discover God’s power, purpose and grace. She is the author
of four books including her most recent, Donkeys Still
Talk (Navpress, 2004); Mothering Upstream
(Victor, 1990); Loving, Launching, and Letting Go
(Broadman & Holman, 1995); and Getting the Best Out of
Public Schools (Broadman & Holman, 1998), co-authored
with her husband, Steve, an educational psychologist.
Virelle has served for many years as a contributing writer
for Today's Christian Woman and is widely published in other
national magazines, as well. Her articles have appeared in
Moody Magazine, Focus on the Family’s Pastor’s Family,
Decision, HomeLife, Personal Excellence, Tapestry, and have
been reprinted in Australia, Germany, Poland, Uganda, and
the Caribbean islands. She is a mentor for the Christian
Writers Guild and a regular faculty member at Christian
writers’ conferences.
Virelle and Steve are the parents of four grown children,
plus six grandchildren, and reside near Albany, New York,
where Dr. Kidder serves as Executive Director of the New
York Family Policy Council and Virelle is a full-time writer
and conference speaker.
